始めてのプログラム作成の苦労話も披露されながら、例会はとても和やかに、楽しく進行しました。
また、機材トラブルやヘルパーの急な変更も当クラブならではの素晴らしい連携プレイでスムーズに進みました。
そしてこの日はなんと準備スピーチが日本語2題、英語3題！
日本語セッションでは、まずはTM Sさｎによるアイスブレイカースピーチ。とても流暢な日本語で日本留学当初の苦労話を語ってくださいました。
彼の論評者からも「スピーチの基本要素をすべて満たしている」と評価された素晴らしいスピーチでした。
２題目の準備スピーチはＴＭ Ｋさんによる眠らない町ＮＹでの体験を通じ、自分の価値観を覆すような体験をされたことを様々なエピソードを通じて語ってくださり、彼女はベストスピーカーに選出されました。
テーブルトピックセッションでは、ゲストも参加して「挑戦」に関する興味深いトピックをＴＭ Ｉさんから提示いただきました。
英語セッションでは、なんと準備スピーチが３題。
まずは、ＴＭ Ｏさんによる東京マラソン時のヘルパーの体験を通じてい感じたことを、ヘルパーは同じユニフォームを着用していても、そのタスクのとらえ方が異なること語ってくださいまいた。
２題目は、ギリギリのところでプレッシャーに苛まれながら仕事をすることの意義を語ってくださったＴＭ Ｙさんのスピーチでした。
3題目はともすれば自分を卑下しがちな日本人には多くの教訓を与えてくださり、自己肯定感も高まるようなＴＭ Ｐさんのスピーチ。どれも大変心に残り、メッセージ性の強いスピーチでした。
英語のテーブルトピックセッションもゲストが参加し、新宿バイリンガルトーストマスターズでの体験を深めていただくことができました。
この日も大変多くのゲストに参加していただくことができ、とても充実した例会となりました。
近頃はゲストのご参加が大変増えている当クラブですが、ゲストの方が、和気あいあいとした中で、切磋琢磨していく当クラブの雰囲気に共感をいただいているのかなぁ、と思ったこの日の例会でした。
The highlight of this meeting was the exciting debut of TM O as TMOE!
While sharing some behind-the-scenes stories about the challenges of creating the program for the first time, TM O led the meeting in a wonderfully relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.
Even when we encountered some equipment trouble and last-minute changes with helpers, everything ran smoothly thanks to the amazing teamwork that truly defines our club.
And what a treat this day was—five prepared speeches in total: two in Japanese and three in English!
In the Japanese session, we began with an Ice Breaker speech by TM S. In beautifully fluent Japanese, he shared heartfelt stories about the challenges he faced when he first came to Japan to study.
His evaluator even praised the speech for covering all the essential elements—what a fantastic start!
The second Japanese speech, delivered by TM K, took us to the sleepless city of New York.
Through a series of vivid episodes, she shared experiences that completely transformed her values. Her powerful message earned her the Best Speaker award—well deserved!
During the Table Topics session, guests also joined in, exploring the theme of “challenge” through thought-provoking questions presented by TM I. It was lively and inspiring to hear everyone’s perspectives.
The English session was equally impressive, featuring three prepared speeches.
TM O kicked things off by sharing insights from volunteering at the Tokyo Marathon. Even though all helpers wore the same uniform, he highlighted how each person approached their role differently—a thoughtful and engaging perspective.
Next, TM Y spoke about the meaning and value of working under pressure, right up against the edge of deadlines. It was a speech that really made us reflect on resilience and growth.
Finally, TM P delivered a deeply impactful speech filled with lessons, especially for those of us who tend to be self-critical. Her message encouraged greater self-confidence and left a lasting impression on everyone.
The English Table Topics session also welcomed guest participation, giving everyone a chance to deepen their experience at Shinjuku Bilingual Toastmasters.
We were delighted to have so many guests join us again this time, making it another truly fulfilling meeting. Recently, we’ve been seeing more and more guests, and it made me feel that perhaps they are drawn to the warm, supportive, and inspiring environment where we grow together through friendly competition.
