１．English Speech Session (19:15-20:15) :
Speaker 1: TM TS
Speech Title: Welcome to a virtual tour of a small city
Summary of Speech: Introduction of Hagi city, Yamaguchi Prefecture (speaker‘s birthplace), which includes a historical background and a detail description regarding the nature of this city.
Speaker showed attractiveness of this city precisely and profoundly.
This speech is the speaker’s first one in English.
Speaker 2: TM KY
Speech Title: Mr. NIRAMI
Summary of Speech: Story of this speaker’s boss, who shows strict attitude towards the speaker and she felt high pressure from his boss when got stared. (In Japanese,“Niramareru, orNiramu”)
However, her boss looked over the speaker’s every activity in office and highly evaluated her performance.
Speaker addressed this speech at the district contest in Japanese and again made it in English.
Table Topics Session:
Table Topics Master: TM HK
Question 1: regarding activity(ies) in summer, especially outdoor activity.
Respondent TM MK told that her preference is inside activity“Pilates Method” to improve inner muscle.
Question 2: regarding specific event in summer.
Respondent TM TI told that Bon-odori dance festival in his summer vacation.
Question 3: regarding strong memory in summer.
Respondent BL told that Bon-odori dance festival in her childhood, with having fun by dancing with unknown persons and fireworks and eating shaved ice.
Evaluation Session:
Evaluator 1: TM IT evaluated TM TS’s speech, having noticeable aspect, that is, (i)organized contents enable the audience to follow and listen easily and (ii) the more he continues talking, the more he showed gesture.
Evaluator 2: TM SY evaluated TM KY’s speech, with demonstrating proactivity that she tried to address a speech in English (original Version is Japanese). Besides, evaluator mentioned the speaker was able to address this speech with humor.

田舎の雰囲気が好きだ。

初めての英語スピーチと外部クラブの方によるスピーチの２本立て という独特な内容だったのが興味深い。説明解説的なものと、 物語的なものという２パタンの種類があったのが良かった テーブルトピックス→
日英両語ともに同一の方からなされる興味深いものだった。

次回は５月８日（来月は、第２第４木曜日の開催となる。 長期連休中の第１週の会を後ろにずらす）
