2024年2月1日 第320回例会報告/320th Regular Meeting

Today the speech marathon for English speeches was held. There were four great speeches. Plus, the winner will go to the Area contest. 

I-san, gave a speech about how some people make mistakes in grammar. Also, different kinds of mistakes and what we could think about them. What was particularly interesting was Churchill`s comment.

W-san, talked about how we only have 4,000 weeks. She mentioned the difficulties of trying to motivate yourself to use time wisely in the face of the temptation of Facebook, etc. She encouraged us to overcome such temptations.

K-san, talked about his various failures, and his dealing with self-esteem. He encouraged us to consider how much self-esteem we have, and how much you can learn from others.

M-san, gave a speech about how she found her passion in Tango. It was through Tango that she could enjoy life better and also successfully try new things. 

After the four speeches, there were two impromptu topics in Japanese.

The first question was about what side hustle should someone try. The Y-san was unsure as to what side hustle to pick, but his son offered many options.

The second question was about how you protect your home from crime. H-san, talks about his struggle with setting up a smart lock. 

After each English speech marathon, and impromptu session there was a general evaluation session and all the speakers got feedback on what went well and what could be done better.

本日、英語スピーチマラソンが行われた。素晴らしいスピーチが4つありました。さらに、優勝者はエリアコンテストに出場します。

一人目、Iさんは、文法を間違える人がいることについてスピーチしました。また、その間違いの種類と、それについて私たちが考えられることについて。特に興味深かったのは、チャーチル首相のコメントでした。

Wさんは、4,000週間しかないこと。フェイスブックなどの誘惑の中で、時間を賢く使おうというモチベーションを高めることの難しさについて話してくれました。彼女は、そのような誘惑に打ち勝つよう私たちを励ましてくれました。

Kさんは、さまざまな失敗や自尊心との向き合い方について話しました。自分にはどれだけの自尊心があるのか、そして他人からどれだけのことを学ぶことができるのかを考えるよう、私たちを励ましてくれました。

Mさんは、タンゴに情熱を見出したというスピーチをした。タンゴを通して、人生をより楽しむことができるようになり、また、新しいことに挑戦することができるようになりました。

4人のスピーチの後、日本語での2つの即興スピーチ部がありました。

最初の質問は、どのような副業をするべきか、というものでした。Yさんはどんな副業を選ぶべきか迷っていましたが、息子は多くの選択肢を提示しました。

2つ目の質問は、どうやって犯罪から家を守っているかというものでした。Hさん、スマートロックの設定に悪戦苦闘していることを話しました。

各英語スピーチマラソンと即興セッションの後、総合論評セッションが行われ、スピーカー全員がうまくいった点、及び改善点についてフィードバックを受けました。
